Let’s be honest with ourselves, we all tend to do it, don’t we?

Let’s be honest with ourselves, we all tend to do it, don’t we? See a friend on social media showing the world they are ‘living the dream’, and you can’t help and get a little jealous.

But why?

Do we feel like that due to that person actually doing what we wish would do, or is it due to us not doing anything to help ourselves get to that goal? Should you ask yourself how can I get to that instead of how did they get to that goal. This is the issue with comparing our lives with others, it just does not work, it’s like comparing apples and oranges. Comparing our lives with our friends and our online “friends” will only lead to one thing – negative emotions (sadness/jealousy).

Comparison only works when comparing you with you, such as you this year compared to you last year. By using it in this fashion, we see how far we have come and where one can go.

Food for thought.
