What is important in life? And no, this post will not give you a list of the top 10 of what is important in life, so sorry about that! The idea of this post is to make you stand back and have a little think (which I hope all these blog posts do!). Maybe instead of asking the question “what is important in life”, you should be asking, “What type of person do I want to be?”.

In my opinion, asking this type of question shifts the focus towards action, you doing something to become that person you wish to be. So maybe sitting down with a pen and paper and listing who you want to be as a person is an excellent place to begin. Then, as the list gradually gets longer, some commonalities may start to appear, which will help you answer the “what is important in life” question.

Maybe instead of asking the question “what is important in life” you should be asking “what type of person do I want to be?”.

So, you have created your list and have identified what type of person you want to be (cause at the end of the day, it is different for everyone), now what? Now, look at how you can implement this into your daily life. This can be done in many ways, from calendars to daily habit trackers, but the key is to keep trying every day.

So, if you really want a list of what to do here is it:

  • Sit down with a pen and paper
  • Write down what type of person you wish to be
  • Implement that on a daily basis and track until it becomes a habit.
